Why We Built This Site
Hennepin County has no shortage of public information about warrants. The problem is that the information sits with different offices and none of them publishes a complete list. A judge issues a warrant in a district court case. The Sheriff's Warrant Office confirms it and explains the bail. A jail roster shows who is in custody, and the Most Wanted page shows a small curated set of cases. MCRO shows case records but is not a warrant registry.
That layout causes the same mistake over and over. A person checks one page, finds nothing, and concludes that no warrant exists. Some warrants are confidential until they are served. Some pending criminal matters do not return in a name search. Some cases are filed by a city prosecutor under a county file number, which sends a reader looking for a city court that does not exist. We put the offices, the phone numbers, the record fields, and the request steps in one place so you can start in the right spot.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant checks: how to run a name and date of birth through the court, the Warrant Helpline, and the Sheriff's Warrant Office
- Active warrants: what an open status means, and why no complete public roster exists
- Bench warrants: how a missed appearance or a sentence violation becomes a warrant, and which court issued it
- Arrest warrants: how probable cause review produces a warrant, how officers serve it, and what notice Minnesota law requires
- Traffic warrants: how a citation or a missed traffic date reaches the Violations Bureau and the court
- Resolving a warrant: the paths through a turn-in, bail or bond, and a motion to recall or quash, best handled with an attorney
What We Cannot Do
We run a private reference site with no connection to a Minnesota court, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, or any government agency. That limits what we can do for you:
- We cannot run a warrant check or confirm that a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot post bond, take a payment, or accept money toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-in appearance
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a warrant applies to your situation
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address here is current today
Only the court that issued a warrant or the Sheriff's Warrant Office that carries it can confirm whether the warrant is still open. We can point you to the right office, and the answer has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages here include search boxes that outside companies operate. Those companies set their own prices and run their own services, and their results are not an official warrant check. When a search leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that revenue keeps this site free to read.
Nothing from a partner search replaces a call to the Hennepin County District Court or the Sheriff's Warrant Office. If a result matters, confirm it with the office that holds the record.
